About the Guidance Department

The mission of the York Early College Academy Guidance Department is to provide a developmental program that will facilitate and support the educational achievement of all students.  The program focuses on personal development, academic success and college readiness and planning.  Our goal is to promote students’ sense of responsibility personally, socially, and academically, so that students can work towards their full potential and achieve their best selves.

Counseling: We provide individual counseling and group workshops to support the personal, academic, and post-secondary pursuits of every student.  The goal of counseling is to take a proactive and preventative approach when possible, but also to work with students to resolve current issues that impact personal growth and academic achievement.

Collaboration and Strategic Partnerships: Counselors consult with teachers, parents, and administrators on a continual basis.  Through strategic partnerships, counselors collaborate with district student services and local community resources to promote a positive school climate.  This multifaceted approach enhances the opportunity for all students to achieve their personal and educational goals.

The York Early College Academy Guidance Department empowers students to become life long learners and to succeed as global citizens in the digital age.  If you would like more information, please contact:
